SSL Handshake Failed

Midi Fighter Utility on OSX 
can not start properly with my mf3d connected.
the bottom left corner shows a message “SSL handshake failed”
and the NO MIDIFIGHTER DETECTED message is shown.
occasionally it is flashing into the software but immediately glitching back to 
the NO MIDI FIGHTER DETECTED message, so i can not access the software.
(m1 mini 2020, 13.6.1 )

it works on my pc.
i am connected to the main usb port on the back of the mac mini 
with the usb cable mf3d came with, 
everything is visibly undamaged.
any other hardware i own works on the usb port.

i did not have security issues pop up in ventura system configuration,
also i made exceptions in my firewall and on my router for djtechtools.com

is there anything i am missing?
i managed to update the mf3d to the 2018 firmware on the pc and reload factory settings,
its just inconvenient i can't use mf utility on my main work station.
